Bears n' Bees
A downloadable game for Windows and Linux
This is a digital version of a physical card game developed as a student project. Choose a hive of 4 bees to defend and gather honey, then flip cards from the Event Deck to simulate the passage of time as you and another player compete to stockpile honey for the winter. Flip a number card, and all of your bees that match its color (red or black) will produce honey! You can keep flipping as much as you like during your turn, but the more you flip, the more likely you are to run into a hungry bear...
Main Rules:
1) Bee hive composition matters! Both color and rank are important. Bees can only produce honey or block bears when they match the color of the card in question. The rank of your bees will increase their ability to block damage, but will also cost you more honey to "feed" them every turn. Choose your hive wisely!
2) When producing honey, the total honey produced is equal to the rank of the honey card drawn times the number of bees in your hive that match it. e.g., if you have 3 red bees and 1 black bee, and you draw a red 2 from the Event Deck, you will produce 6 (2 honey x 3 matching bees) total honey from that card.
3) Players start with a net loss of honey every turn because they have to "feed" their bee hive. The higher the rank of your bees, the higher your feed cost and the more you will have to flip just to break even!
4) WIN/LOSS:
-If either player drops to 0 or less honey, the other player wins
-If either player reaches 100 or more honey, they win the game
-If the Event Deck runs out of cards, then the player with the most honey wins
